This past week Jane has started to say EVERYTHING. It's like a tiny switch went off in her brain, and she suddenly realized that she knew how to say all the things in her head, and with that I feel that I've said a painful goodbye to baby-hood. Something about the fact that she can sing me a song, tell me to watch her jump off the couch, and ask for a drink "PEEEASE?" in the course of 60 seconds makes me feel like we've got a full fledged little girl on our hands. And to spite the fact that she still calls herself "the baby...named Jane" I'm a little blown away with this little person with all of her thoughts and feelings and music that just showed up in our home. She's a constant reminder that the world is wonderful, and that I should stop and take the time to hear, and see and smell it. And if for some reason I forget, she'll make sure to remind me. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a sound that goes unnoticed by the announcement of a really surprised "what is that SOUND?!" from Jane throughout every single day.
In other news, Tennessee can't decide if it's winter, spring, or the arctic, so my fashion mantra is currently "carry your closet with you." I'm finally beginning to wish for spring, if only to break the cabin fever!
